Weingut Schauer Sauvignon Blanc
WINE TYPE: White
VARIETAL: Sauvignon Blanc
APPELLATION: Südsteiermark DAC
Benhard and Stefan Schauer continue their family tradition of wine making on some of the highest and steepest winegrowing slopes in all of Central Europe, documented back to 1757. More impressive, records at the village church document the earliest winemaking to the Schauer family.
In their words, "this is our most important wine and flagship". Aromatics of lychee, green apple, kiwi, and a faint hint of sorrel. The palate is light bodied and dry with moderate acidity, and shows savory hints of sage, celery, and salty lime.
