Ann Faure Pinot Noir

Handpicked grapes are de-stemmed and left uncrushed in cement tanks to ferment with native yeasts. After pressing off the skins, the wine is divided to age in 80% steel and 20% concrete.
The resulting wine has "one foot in California, one arm in Burgundy and a heart in Stellenbosch." There is juiciness, but notes of black tea and a delightful chalky stoniness. A truly pleasing Pinot.
