Unico Zelo 'Truffle Hound'

Affectionately known as ‘Truffle Hound’, this wine pays homage to the locals in Barolo who drink freshly fermented Nebbiolo before they take their expertly trained dogs (and pigs!) in the cold, foggy mountains of Barolo to hunt for the most savory, earth-drenched truffles they can find.

This wine is an approachable and jovial expression of Barbera & Nebbiolo with a bit of added Sangiovese & Merlot. Intense aromatics of dried herbs, dark fruit, bright plum and a touch of umami. The palate adds licorice, cardamon spice and an amaro-like tease. Incredibly elegant finish with the perfect amount of acid.
