This wine is produced from ungrafted vines that pre-date the 1881 outbreak of phylloxera in Sicily. These 140+ year old vines are incredibly low yielding, and produce a wine that is complex, layered and intriguing with each sip.
The aromas carry hints of wild flowers, red fruits, exotic spices. The flavors that follow are concentrated yet balanced with a long-lasting finish. This would a be perfect wine for game, red meat and sharp or seasoned cheeses.
