Though Ancien Wines is known for making Pinot Noir from Napa Valley, winemaker Ken Bernard has built a relationship with Dick Shae's vineyard in Willamette Valley Oregon. Bernard's mission is to make wine from viticulture areas that would be held at the same regard as a 'Grand Cru' property in France. Shae Vineyards has a reputation for quality and is known to produces most of the renowned Pinot Noirs of the Willamette Valley. Of this vintage only 286 cases were produced.

Earthy aromas followed by rich forrest floor, light toasty notes, dried floral, clover, rose petal, geranium flower and ripe huckleberry with wild strawberry. Flavors of plum and blueberry coat your palate along with chocolatey tannins and a balanced acid and mineraly finish.

In 2013 it was said that this wine will only become more silken in texture and robust aromatically in 5-10 years. Now is the time to pop some corks!
