Viticulturally, Nero looks absolutely at home year after year in Riverland, as it’s able to achieve a balanced level of ripeness that is much more difficult to find in other regions within South Australia.
The 2021 vintage is, per Brenden, 'bang - on'. It is showing a little bit Gamay-esque, almost Cru Beaujolais. The aromatics show bold blue and brambly black fruit with sweet nutmeg and baking spice and a touch of woody, cedar. The palate is super balanced with minerality, salty acid and some green, crispy tannins. Great mineral drive this year, salty acid line framed by really green, crispy tannins. Put a chill on it and enjoy!
